X-Force: Job

I just got off the phone with Christian. Apparently his old friend Martin Delacourt was killed as part of a break-in. No ordinary break-in since Delacourt was killed by a single blow to the back of his neck, snapping his spine. Delacourt was a collector of Asian art pieces; a hold over from years working on the Pacific Rim. Some of his pieces could fetch low seven figures on the black market. But those weren't the pieces stolen. The pieces they told where Qing Era reproductions of earlier Qin pottery, worth maybe three, four grand from a collector specifically interested in the era.

The National Museum in Liverpool has announced a similar theft of identical artifacts three weeks ago. In that case, the thief ignored other items, including gold jewelry in the same case, focusing on the artifacts. Something smells on this and he's asked us to look into it.

Christian? As in "Garrison Kane's retired spy dad" Christian?

Oh, this is going to be interesting.

Time to study up on Chinese antiques, apparently. Two thefts could just be a coincidence - Doug, you up for doing your internet thing and seeing if there's been any more?

When am I not up for the internet?

...on second thought, that might have been poorly phrased.
