eXcal: Response and Action

Science Council,

We are eager to hear of your plans for how to prevent a situation such as the Chimera outbreak again. Include anyone relevant. The best course is always decisive action forward.

We've got the standard decon setup as at the mansion, but obviously dealing with pathogens from other universes and realities is going to take more than standard protocol to handle. We're going to need to revamp the Chapel's current decon and iso/quarantine areas and probably to beef up the medical supplies left by our last field medic. I'd like them to be in the same general area as the actual portal so we can come back and then do all the usual things.

Probably we should convert that lab into an actual triage area and then add in a temp medical bay? We don't want to reinvent the wheel, but in case of something like this happening again, it'd be nice not to have to trek all the way back through the mansion to the MedLab.

It's going to take some restructuring, which means getting those contractors we used last time courtesy of Xavier back. Opposite the lab, I figure, but it'll depend on what the structural engineer says.

And this is on top of our plans for increasing security, too.

Let's loop in Medical (and possibly Muir) to get some better ideas on pathogen control and what higher measures we might need to use to increase bio-safety.

Ultimately, we're all very lucky that what came through with us was, while inconvenience, essentially harmless. The next thing we might bring back could be a lot worse and obviously we want to prevent that.

From personal experience I think we can say that the standard Mansion decon protocol kinda sucks. So I think we can do better.

Let's get a brainstorming session with Muir on the go to handle the ugly messy bio end of things and once we have a good grip on how far and how extreme we want to make our standard protocol, then all of us can put our heads together and come up with a rigorous decon and possibly telemedicine protocol so that if someone does need stitched up or is leaking, we can deal with us without directly endangering anyone.
