Mission Report - Nevada (Part 2). [Locked to eXcalibur]
Location: Nevada, United States
Anomaly Origin: Temporary dimensional rift initiated via unknown technology.
Mission Summary:
We (myself, Clint Barton, Matt Murdock, and Molly Hayes) responded to an dimensional signal recorded in rural Nevada. I engaged in first contact with the following previously unrecorded inter-dimensional actors:
- Imperium Forces – military disciplined, caste society
- The Brood – parasitic hive species; confirmed host infiltration
- Starjammer Crew – independent illegal agitators
Upon arrival, the Imperium representatives were actively compromised —undergoing transformation due to Brood infestation. This Brood infection is likely spread via direct parasitic contact.
Engagement resulted in neutralization of multiple Brood hosts and temporary cooperation with Starjammer forces to contain further spread. I, myself, enjoyed this greatly. Would be that more negations were this direct.
End result gained us intelligence in possible dimensional traversal technology. How novel as this is our third time encountering what others know but we do not.
Profiles:
1. The Imperium
Imperial hierarchy centered on monarchical reverence.
Risk: Moderate, address senior command before lessers, ritualistic respect expected. Always project dominance.
2. Brood
Hive-based infestation.
Risk: Critical. Parasitic override of host body and psyche; replicates identity for infiltration.
Advisory: Immediate quarantine. No cultural framework. Diplomacy impossible.
3. Starjammers
Rogue multi-species crew, formerly military. Adaptable, function via chosen kinship and shifting alliances. "Found family." Ugh.
Risk: Low to Moderate
Advisory: Cooperation possible under shared risk. Speak plainly, as sentimentality is a tactical pressure point.
Notes:
The Brood pose an existential threat. Their presence here was opportunistic —this rift may have exposed our dimension to scouting-level incursion.
The Imperium, in its uninfected form, seems disinterested in Earth, or Terra as they call it, though that disinterest reads as calculated rather than benign.
The Starjammer crew claimed accidental entry into our dimension. Familiarity with multiversal mechanics suggests otherwise.
I subdued as many Brood drones as feasible. However, we may face future breaches if the Brood identify our dimension as fertile ground.
Cultural Appendix (For you, M. Szardos)
The Imperium: Ornate, devout, assimilationist. Empire in drag. Their speech favors clipped command phrasing. Expect avian or sovereign metaphors and deference to a Throneworld. Little personal initiative.
The Brood: No individuality. No identity. Only replication, consumption, and biological escalation. They view form as a tool for proliferation.
The Starjammers: Pirates. Their structure is nontraditional yet deeply interdependent. Their loyalty orbits around their Terran captain, who they refer to as “Corsair.” Sentimental, inconveniently brave. Avoid if possible.
The X-Men were adequate support. Three out of four stars in your Yelp language.

And the X-Men were very helpful, particularly on the bridge.
Regarding the intelligence we received from the Starjammers regarding potential multiversal travel, we have schematics of their FTL and dimension-jumping drives. Molly and I are seeing what we can make of it, but we'll reach out to other mechanically-minded mansionites for further assistance. And probably Doug for translation help.
For reference, Starjammers encountered that I can remember off the top of my head:
Hepzibah (Sort of looked like a skunk? Friendly, spoke like Yoda.)
C'reee (White sort of ferret-looking guy. Small. Head mechanic. Gave us the holo-display with the FTL and DJD schematics. Speaks a language appropriate for his vocal chords.)
Raza (Definitely a cyborg. Cool dude. Awesome in a fight, though. Did most of the translating for C'reee.)
