So I'm possibly a bit slow on the uptake - let's chalk it up to a busy week - but I saw Arthur's post about the Halloween 'do in DX. Specifically, this:

I got a few texts about the entirely convincing children pretending to be demons.

Don't worry! A badass lady with armor and a glowing sword told me that they were "obnoxiously enthusiastic about the consuming the soul of the night" (her words), but I feel like they really added to the fun, and I guess soul, of the night.

It figures that the I decide to not do any Halloween bullshit, demons turn up. Even if they were little ones. At least I have a better idea what set Forge off. But more disturbing is this lady in the armour with the sword. Sound familiar to anyone? Looks like Illyana might not be as lost as we thought she was.

(For fuck's sake, no-one tell the Ruskie - he'll just go bonkers trying to find her again and bring all sorts of hell down on our heads. Let's keep this quiet while we do a bit of looking ourselves, yeah?)

And another thing... going through the X-Men's reports on that Clan Akkaba job we gave them in Eastern Europe... Gar mentioned that Laurie said Essex was after info on En-Sabah-Nur. Info that they took from the Clan Akkaba people (after slaughtering them, mind). Akkaba's all about looking for their "Son of the Morning Fire". Call me dumb, but doesn't this mean that the Morning Fire bloke IS En-Sabah-Nur? Which means we should be doing research on both those names?

Mini Avalon has been locked and sealed about as much as it can possibly be. Marie-Ange and Amanda have keys if something goes horribly wrong and someone needs to get in, but I'm just going to hope for the best.

Murder Spies, you're up. Alex & co found the missing kids and not-fatally-enough took out their kidnappers, but the kids are powerless. Someone drew symbols on them with non-erase marker, which we assume are magically inhibiting them. Fix it.

Just had a 'fun' meeting with Pyotr Rasputin, about his little sister, Illyana. I managed to get him calm enough to not try and throw me into orbit, but he's definitely on a crusade about Illyana and finding her. Including potentially getting to Limbo any way he can. Us dimensional "old timers" know how volatile things are with him about his family - that doesn't seem to have changed with the new version - and to avoid getting into the same sort of trouble we've had with the uneducated getting mixed up with the magical underworld and the types that will take advantage (cf: Warren, cf: Frankenberry Farouk), we probably should keep an eye on him.

Topaz, expect him to come your way next - you knew Illyana better than I did and he wants to know what sort of person she became. Sorry?

Gabe gave us a refugee last night. More importantly, a Maggia associated princess. I've arranged for her to spend a few weeks at the mansion while she lies low from some inter-mob associated warfare. She's got up to date info. Darcy, Felicia, Gabe... hell, any of you, as long as it doesn't implicate her family, she's willing to vet our intel and provide help. This is a goldmine. Use her.

Also, Colbert, I think she's flippable. But it needs a different touch than mine. Talk to her. I see some good things in her.

That group in Hamburg, Germany, that we have been keeping an eye on for their part in smuggling magical items has suddenly had a large burst of activity after remaining relatively quiet. As discussed earlier, I'll be leaving in the morning and will most likely be only be reachable through a few ways, though will check in on a regular basis per protocol.

Just landed from New Year's vacation in Mexico after some irritating airport delays. Heading to the office for the day, then the mansion to grab my luggage. Then out again on an overnight flight, and gone for a few days on some of Jubilee's international errands. (Unless something comes up, which seems to be the way of things lately.)

All of which is to say, in the few hours that I'm in New York, someone fill me in on the bizarre new arrival. I couldn't really process anything she was saying.

I think I can do this thing where I let the X Force people know too? IDEK, this is informal, there's a post mission report available that's less "Kyle is tired", I think you guys all have access.

If I screwed this up it's because Kyle is Tired.

Laurie's phone had a bunch of emails from Dr Essex, that genetic engineering dude from Genosha. Never smelled or saw him when we pulled her outta that pod but pretty sure that pod was the same basic thing that turned people into mutates in Genosha.

Darcy Lewis is taking a leave of absence. She'll likely be gone for a few weeks. If you have anything that is an emergency and you need to reach her, let me know. Otherwise, she'll take care of it when she's back.

Laurie was found severely injured and is in the medlab where she will remain for a while.

Darcy's status remains unchanged and she is also in the medlab being monitored.

A more detailed write up will be logged in the team reports shortly.

Darcy has not answered any texts or calls in the last hour. Her alert shows as in the medlab. I also can’t get hold of Laurie, who Darcy said she was going to check in on.

Can I please get an emergency teleport from whoever’s available from the new XF office back to the mansion ASAP

I know things are nuts around here and a lot of you are otherwise occupied, so I canceled my trip out west. Nothing that can't wait, and some of you have more important trips to be making, so I'll stay here and hit LA some other time.

Which means I'm free to pick up some of the work that's falling through the cracks right now. Even some scut work.

Topaz is currently missing presumed trapped in Avalon after the collapse of the dimensional gateway. Her status is unknown. If you have any ideas, no matter how absurd please see myself, Darcy or Wanda.

I will be out of office tomorrow - I am working to determine if we have the ability and resources to change this.
