Arthur Centino is on administrative leave until further notice.

While he's out and Worthington is busy pumping money into material rebuild efforts for DX, the rest of us have our hands full with missing people reports and coordinating with the DXCC and city government for rehousing displaced residents and damaged businesses.

I hear Soft Serve escaped the worst of it and is still open, so $100 to the first person who can get me a mint-chocolate swirl.

Update: our wayward husband has been traveling to Oregon of all places every other week. There've been rumors of some little mutant cult up there. So I want to check it out; find our target and see what this cult is about, if we need to keep it on our radar. Inez, Arthur, and Sue, you have an hour to get to JFK. I normally wouldn't book first-class on the client's dime, but Worthington can shoulder the difference.

Three announcements:

1) Out of an obligation for professional courtesy, I've granted Jessica Jones short-term access to some of our resources. "Just until she gets back on her feet." Sue, I directed her to you, so please generate log-in information for background searches and public databases. They can be set to automatically expire in 30 days.

2) I met with a new client this morning. Standard case of a wayward spouse. She wants us to follow the husband and see where he's been disappearing to for days at a time for the last month. Arthur, Inez, please take the lead. I'll drop off the info I have in a moment.

3) It is with extreme displeasure and regret that I announce Warren Worthington is returning to XFI.

Time to let the cat out of the bag: despite higher education being nothing more than a money-making scam for the intellectual elite who are not skilled in anything besides grifting young people, I completed a 4-year degree program in 2 years in December and as of yesterday am a licensed private investigator. And with a big fat inheritance after my father dropped dead a couple weeks ago, Lorna has accepted my offer to buy into X-Factor Investigations.

Congratulations, you're now my minions.

Expect the pay bumps to take effect next pay period, assuming this paperwork goes through. And No Pants Thursdays start tomorrow.

Murder Spies, you're up. Alex & co found the missing kids and not-fatally-enough took out their kidnappers, but the kids are powerless. Someone drew symbols on them with non-erase marker, which we assume are magically inhibiting them. Fix it.

Busy week guys! Great work!

Most pressing issue is the Miguel Lopez case. We’ve had little headway on Miguel himself, but Alex, Hope, and Sue have been putting in time to establish leads and seriously deserve a pat on the back. Turns out that he’s not the only missing teen — looks like the Morlocks and the poorer boroughs also have recent teen disappearances, so whatever is happening is wider and more worrying than the initial details suggested.

Count on me to keep Sandy Lopez in the loop until we can any more solid proof of life.

Attached you’ll find the standard write-ups on case progress from Alex and his source. I’ve also charted a few of the known players / leads here with what we already know about the players in NYC. Q? You win the office pool for “too many folks tied to the Maggia.”

Looks like we have a knot to untie. We will find those kids.

After the incomplete property records we received at register's office, Quentin and I payed a visit to one Mr O'Toole. He was disinclined to share any further information, but with the judicious application of a little ghosting we have the name of a contact person.

I am currently pulling together as much of a background on him as I can as well as trying to track down where the remaining property records might be. I have found a few potential tidbits we could use to convince this person to see our point of view, but I could use some help from Sue with building the case a little further.

And if you, Arthur and/or Quentin are up for a little footwork, Alex, I have a few things for you to check out as well.
