Since the arson we had an increase of scared business owners who are afraid they might be next. Any suggestions on how we should handle this, because this is currently getting to our limit and that is not including the cases we are already working on.

Perhaps we can assist them by helping to review their security measures and help to improve them where possible. Sue, is this not one of your specialties?

And we might be able to call on the assistance of the more technical inclined people at the mansion to assist as well. The atmosphere seems to be one of wanting to help.

It's a short term solution sadly that would be only of limited value. We could easily get a security company to come in to install alarms, but all that would do is make a loud noise. None of the businesses can afford a real security system, and it would be overkill in any case. The security system would be worth more than the goods it's protecting.

We could probably take on a few clients to provide security for them, but we don't have the resources or manpower for a lot. We might be best off helping them set up a neighborhood watch, we can provide training and gear for them and even the organization to get started.

It literally kills me to say it (as in, I'm pretty sure just typing this is giving me Ebola disease), but this is a good idea. The only people we can trust to protect us are ourselves so we need to empower other mutants to do that.

We do have to be careful to not accidentally turn them into a mutant militia, though. I'm sure the police would love a reason to storm District X in full SWAT gear and a burn the neighborhood to the ground.

I'm not against training them and gearing them up, just... there's a line we have to toe.

Communications and observation only isn't a bad idea. We can even hire out XFI on a retainer to the watch to actually deal with any specific threats so they don't get into trouble with the police.
