So I've spent the last several hours since Jean alerted us to Kevin taking off from medlab trying to see if New York could find him. Not something I've done before, but hey, gotta try, right? Of course, trying to find a shapeshifter who doesn't want finding is pretty much the fucking definition of impossible, so no luck. Do we have any idea why he'd do a bunk like he did?

(I'm going to go lie down in a quiet room with some heavy duty aspirin for the rest of the day. I'm having trouble remembering I'm not made out of buildings and roads and it's given me a blinding headache.)

I am certain Kevin was alive and going to stay that way as of my reading for him this morning.

I keep getting cards from that pin up set with Vampira and Carolyn Jones as Morticia Addams, and I think that means he has died before and quite some time ago, but I could be wrong. I hate when the sets get mixed up, it changes all the symbolism for the readings.

Kevin's history and power and the possibility that he has died and come back before means that at the moment I am limited to "is he still alive" and "is he going to betray us all and make us all dead"

Yes to the first, no to the second should anyone be curious.

I am rather guessing at that reading, and I do not have so many people I can compare to, so unless someone wants to find another eighty year old shapeshifter and kill them a few times to see if I get similar results, all I can do is check once a week and ask Clea to pick up my Imitrex prescription.

When I left him, he was sleeping deeply. Unconscious- whichever you choose to call it. Some of the architecture of his brain was back together but not all of it.

I suspect this may have been quite a primitive response based on how much of his brain and body was functional again. Flight, really. Rather than a considered choice.

As Kevin's mutation has proven to have an even stronger self-preservation instinct than even I can probably boast of, I am not going to try hunting him down at this point.

Shotgun blasts to the head and chest probably take some time to process. I think he’s just... processing.
