So this seems to be working again, which means I am safe to assume Cypher has gotten all of the databases and servers back to whatever standard they were before our horrific New Years mystery event.

We really do need more people - we have lost quite a number of our contacts, especially from the Indian subcontinent from the disaster, plus countless others simply from losing a number of our people in the aftermath incidents, plus the retirement of others in the past year that we did not have time to replace.

Unless someone strenuously objects, I am going to write up a job offer for Wade - I know (intimately) that he is ridiculous but he comes cheap and we need the people and he has proven dependable and skilled in the past. I am also considering reaching out to Gabriel Cohuelo - from rumors I heard before the New Years Event, he may have the kind of history that lends itself to working well with Jubilee, plus someone who moves fast strikes me as valuable all on its own.

I figured Wade, but Gabriel's a surprise.

They'd both be useful, yeah, but my only concern is their mental states right now. Objective thinking isn't big for either, and that's what we really need right now, dealing with the aftermath.

I think we are going to be hard pressed to find objective thinking in some of us as well, but I agree with your concern. At least for a little while though, I think we can limit our new people, or those of us who are emotionally compromised to more supervised activities.

I would really like more than just the two of them as well, but I am rather out of options.

Bugger, we also need a new in-house therapist. Doug's Dr. Grim is not going to be able to take all or even most of us. I have no idea how we are going to manage that.

Do not overwork yourself - some of the rebuilding is going to take time, not extreme effort.

Anyone we can reconnect with, please do so, and thank you for taking this on while the rest of us are rebuilding in other ways (cookie mercenaries are out, I already have an order in for you) but some of this is simply going to require groundwork and new connections. Half the people who trusted us before have decided not to just because our receptionist has green hair.

It's cool, dude. I'd rather work then sit around gazing at my navel.

We're not too badly off when it comes to the small fry, most of them have come back to the fold. A few losses but easily replaceable.

The big dogs are gonna be an issue though. Wade and Gaby are gonna have to come out in the field with me soon as they come online, I'm thinking.

Just glad Wanda managed to keep the magicals all in line.

This is def gonna take time but when have I ever sat still for more then a day, right?

The small fry, as you call them are also more readily replaced. The bigger problem is our more well-connected contacts.

The benefit of hiring Wade is that he does have some scattered people of his own we can make use of, but bear in mind, I have not even sent a job offer to either yet - but if you want to go speak to Mr Cohuelo be my guest!

Also do not setup contracts with any mercenaries not named Wade Wilson. We are not honoring those contracts, and I do not believe most of those "contracts" exist - we almost never have used them before, and it was piecemeal, not contractual.

All cool, dude. Most of this stuff is ancient history, just trying to clear up some loose ends. I stuck a list of reliable small fry sources on your desk - I also listed out the big fry that I know are still loyal, still alive, or both. There's not much there but it's a start.

If Wadester accepts the contract, throw him my way once he's all settled? There's a couple of names on that list that I'd like to pay a visit to, and they prefer being off the grid.

If you've got any other places I can visit while I'm in the neighborhood, tack them on too.

(I know, I know - I got some sleep, and Kurt's making sure I don't turn into a workaholic while I'm not looking. This is long term stuff, but I figure I'd put it out there. )

Well, not all of the magical contacts. Several have gone dark and I honestly do not know if they got caught up in the disaster or simply decided it was best to cut ties while they could. Honestly, a few are simply not worth our time to hunt back down but there are several we'd be better off with finding.

But I did keep harassing quite a number of them when things went dark on our end. Mostly the cultist contacts and the ones we've had since forever.

It's not great but it is better than nothing as a start.

I'm going to New Orleans tonight.

I don't deal with the thieves or assassins but I'm working up my connections to the forgers guild again.

Things dropped off. They're welcoming me back but they said there's a price - they might want me to do some freelance work for them. Nothing too big - a small job here or there but it gets me into their books and from them, the others.
