Everyone calm down. There was no right answer in this situation. Yes, there were things that could be done. In fact, there were things that should have been done. But there's so many variables that there was risk involved regardless of what action was taken. Let's not look for some kind of official ruling because that doesn't help.

What we need is to find out who the victim was, who the officers were and what's happened between the incident and now. If the guy is in lock-up or a hospital somewhere, we can help him directly get the care he needs. If we have any video that can be used to identify the officers, we can drop it in the hands of Internal Investigations and the Daily Bugle. That should be enough to demand some kind of official investigation.

This could be the tip of a systematic use of abuse. It could be a one-time fuckup. It could even be that our bootleg DVD friend has a long history of selling heroin and attacking cops. Information is what we need now.
